Committees

Committees are working bodies within ESN that assist the IB members with the constant strengthening and development of the network in these five main fields:

• Communication
• Education
• Finances
• Information Technology
• Network and Events

The Communication Committee is an advisory and administrative body that helps External Relations Board Member and ESN in general to work in the field of Communication. It consists of 1 chair and 2 vice-chairs sharing the responsibilities of external, internal communication and administrative tasks. We have divided into 2 groups (internal and external communication) and adequate subgroups.

The Education Committee coordinates all ESN activities concerning educational policy in cooperation with the President. The Committee is also responsible for preparing ESN policy papers on different ESN concerning issues. It actively participates in international education initiatives by ESN partners – such as consultations by EU institutions, ESU and AEGEE. The Committee also participates and organizes international education related activities (training courses, seminars, projects). They also take care about the Competence development of ESN members, a Guide on exchange programmes, and other projects such as ESNSurvey and PRIME, looking at the development and result dissemination in cooperation with the project teams.

The Finances Committee works on 2 main fields: Financial auditing and management (guaranteeing proper management of ESN finances ensured through regular financial audits) and Fundraising (securing the Financial sustainability through the establishment of partners, sponsors and donors. In addition fundraise for ESN events on a short term basis).

The IT-committee works mainly within the webprojects of ESN, but also on its websites. For example Satellite, Galaxy, Supernova, Infocentre and Wiki.

ESN Satellite 3.0 is the free website template for ESN sections, developed and maintained by ESN International and Youth Agora. ESN Galaxy is a platform where all the events, news and other articles posted on the ESN Satellite web-templates are gathered. It is also the backbone of the ESN database. Supernova is a blogsystem of ESN where the National Representatives, Committees and the International Board can post news, blogs or updates. The ESN Infocentre is the archive of the ESN Network, it holds all the information necessary for National Boards, International Board, but also sections.

The Network and Events Committee takes care of: Project management (Social Erasmus), Network support (Study Trips, Associate Membership, Section in the Spotlight, Rescue team: AC Team), Network knowledge management (National Board Buddy System, Section Questionnaire, Section Guide,European Year of Volunteering), Event Knowledge Management (Guidelines for events: update and management, Event feedback questionnarie and analyses), Management of statutory meetings (CNR, CND, AGM), Management of non-statutory meetings (Regional Platforms, NBM, CoMeet, Cultural Medley) and Public Relations.
