It’s about time!
Time for what? To host the Council of National Representatives in Finland again, of course! The last time Finland had the possibility to host this event was back in 2004, and therefore we are more than happy to have this meeting return to Finland in February 2016!
After a tough election phase, ESN Jyväskylä got the honour to host the next Council of National Representatives (CNR) of our network. CNR Jyväskylä will be held from Thursday 11 February till Monday 15 February 2016, and it will gather all the National Representatives from 37 ESN countries, International Board members, International Committee Chairs and a few guests to Jyväskylä to discuss the burning topics of our network.
The CNR is one of the highest decision-making bodies of ESN. The meeting participants attend workshops to educate themselves and have strategic discussions of the direction we want to take our network. Organising an international event is always very challenging, but also rewarding, and it brings a lot of visibility to the organising section and its partners.
The Organising Committee (OC) of CNR Jyväskylä consists of both very experienced ESNers as well as enthusiastic new ESN volunteers. We feel that our OC is the perfect combination of excellent knowledge and fresh new ideas, and that we will be able to deliver an enjoyable and well-organised meeting for all the participants. So far the Organising Committee has had a good workflow and the biggest preparations have been done. The OC has been working on accommodation, food, meeting venues, preliminary plans for the evening programme and of course, fundraising.
In order to deliver a successful event, the OC of a volunteer organisation also needs plenty of financial support from different partners. One of our partners is well known in Finland: the express bus company Onnibus. Onnibus is an innovative and great value intercity express bus service based in Finland that started in 2014 and quickly became one of the most popular transportation companies.
